BEAUMARCH Apartment

My party of four just spent eight days in this lovely apartment, working our way around Paris by neighborhoods and returning each night to this "Beverly Hills" address. It became apparent after getting on and off the Metro at Sully-Morland or St. Michel how exclusive the area is, how quiet, how safe and beautiful. The apartment is centrally located in the city, and there's easy walking access to the Left Bank, the Louvre, and the Marais. We took the Metro to to Eiffel Tower, Montmartre and Montparnasse, and, of course, the train to Versailles. This was a "Marie-Antoinette"-themed visit, so we dug into her history and explored the obvious MA locations. This apartment decor added tremendously to our enjoyment. I selected it for the decor in the first place! Beware the five story walk-up...good knee and hip mobility is a must!
The beds are comfortable, the pillows, too. Even the pull-downs! The heaters work well. The furniture, TV, etc. all perfect. It would be nice to have the option of "buying" films through the TV service and have that added to the closing bill or even estimating a purchase beforehand.
The bathroom is charming but the door to the shower doesn't close all the way, so best to position yourself against the door. It's very handy to have the small wall way "lavabo" for teeth brushing.
The service contracted our taxi service to and from the CDG Airport (75 euros one way for four) and this provided MUCH stress relief and was only slightly more than we would have all paid separately for train and metro tickets. While we are all adept at using public transportation, using the taxi service made us very comfortable both coming and going. Beware -- these taxi drivers are La Mans-style experts. They know the roads, but the driving can make even the brave feel queasy!
Check in with Eric Barr was a breeze. He was right on time to explain everything about the apartment and give us the keys. He was great about the check out the night before as well (though I understand not all the Paris Address apartments require a personal checkout out.)
We did most of our own cooking, shopping locally and on Rue Cler, for daily needs. The kitchen could be improved with a few more "chef" tools, especially a spatula and a blender, but the knives were in excellent condition! Please add a small broom and dust pan. While we are not fans of electric cook tops, it served us well when we got the hang of it. We also used the dishwasher and the clothes washer/dryer. All the appliances helped minimize our time on household chores and left more time for shopping.
We truly enjoyed all the amenities along the street, made more glorious by the Christmas season. ATMs were easy to find, and when I broke my glasses frames, the local optician took the time and care to insert my lenses into new frames. He even waved away customers who followed after me, telling them to come back in a few minutes so he could concentrate on my problem. Customer attention at its best.
There was not one hitch in our Paris Address service, though I have one recommendation for parties that require more than one set of keys...either a fee for a second or even third set, or a handy "locker" box outside the apartment. We did have some trouble coordinating our separate adventures with just one set of keys.
Overall, I'd rate the apartment 9 out of 10. I'd rate the service a 10 and plan on booking with Paris Address again and referring it to my friends.
